Space Runner

I’ve seen things you people would not believe. Nebulae shine beyond Orion’s belt. I have seen dark skies with thousands of stars and a white river running through it. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in the rain. Time to go to Teide National Park.

Travel with us on an odyssey through the Cosmos from one of the few places in the world that can boast of having a Law that protects the quality of its sky. Join this unique tour in which we will begin by viewing the surface of the Sun through a telescope designed exclusively for it.

Come with us on a route through one of the most popular trails in the Teide National Park and take a break to enjoy the sunset, while we wait for the darkness of the night.

And finally, when the nights floods the landscape, it is time to observe. We will begin our journey through the Universe with an interpretation of the sky with our naked eyes and we will learn how orient ourselves with the stars as our ancestors did.

Then you will see with your own eyes through a large aperture telescope the most fascinating objects of the night: double stars, star clusters, nebulae, galaxies and other visible objects. A night under a starry sky in Tenerife is a memory that everyone has the right to enjoy.

Do not forget to bring: warm clothing, suitable mountain shoes and water.

Did you know that the human eye can barely distinguish a couple hundred stars from a city and more than 4,000 from a place without light pollution?

Our sincerest thanks to Luis JG for this wonderful photograph of the Milky Way, which was taken at Km 3 of Teide National Park road.

A space odyssey

We are all space travelers and the Earth is our ark. In it we travel at breakneck speeds. Around the Sun we do it at an average speed of 107,280 km/h. To complete a single orbit around our Galaxy we would need 225 million years traveling at almost 800,000 km/h. Just in the time it took you to read this paragraph, we have traveled thousands of kilometers through the Universe!

Explore the Cosmos on this stargazing tour in Tenerife, a privileged place whose peaks are protected by a Law that guarantees the quality of its sky since 1988. In turn, this environment has also belonged to the Starlight Destinations and Reservations network since 2013.

And in this scenario we will begin our odyssey through the sky, exploring it the sky with the naked eye to recognize the main constellations and we will orient ourselves with the stars like the ancient navigators. Who knows traveler, maybe one day it can help you on your way.

Then we will see through the telescope the most fascinating objects that are camouflaged in the celestial vault: nebulae, double stars, galaxies, stellar clusters and other objets of our Solar System if they are visible. It will be an experience to enjoy the night in a different way.

Do not forget to bring: Warm clothing, suitable footwear for the mountains and water.

Many moons ago

Why does the Moon seduce us? Perhaps it is because it illuminated us in the dark nights when we did not know fire, or because later it served as a guide to measure time, becoming the first calendar, or simply because it is our inseparable companion and for us it has always been there. We have turned it into a goddess or a symbol of bad omens, we have touched and studied it, allowing us to obtain information that has helped us to better understand the Earth.

Did you know that Tenerife is on the Moon? or what does the Moon have in common with coal?

Come with us and enjoy the Teide National Park when the brightness of the Moon illuminates and transforms its landscape. Live a magical experience in the calm of the night starting by identifying the Pole Star and the main constellations that will help you orient yourself in the celestial dome. Explore in detail the surface of the Moon through the telescope, its craters and seas. During this activity, we will also show you any other object that, being present in the sky, can compete with the brightness of our satellite.

Although during our life we will see the cycle of the Moon a thousand times … we cannot stop observing it.

Do not forget to bring: Warm clothing, suitable footwear for the mountains and water.
