On the island of Tenerife, above 2,000 meters the atmosphere is clean and transparent. Its location in the Atlantic Ocean together with the predominance of the trade winds allow the island to enjoy a natural screen, “the sea of clouds” that retains humidity and atmospheric turbulence below 1,500 meters of altitude. With an average of 300 clear nights a year we find here the Teide Observatory, one of the most important astrophysical centers in the world. At that height, the clouds will not pose any problem so that you can enjoy the sky through a telescope.
Astronomy lovers would like to take our equipment wherever we go, but the weight and fragility of the instruments often make it unfeasible.
If you come to Tenerife and want to do your own astronomical session, our telescope rental service gives you the opportunity to enjoy the night at your own pace. Observe all those deep sky objects that are inaccessible from your place of origin.
